Instructor Training Program for the 2007 - 2008 Season

If you've never thought about teaching, you should... here's some reasons why:

Sounds too good to be true? Don't think your good enough? You don't have to be able to be a super high level ski/snowboarder to teach. Some of our best instructors have not been our best skiers or snowboarders. Some people have strong people skills and it accounts for a lot.

Two ways to go...

Instructor Training Program

Ever consider sharing your love of the sport with others? Looking to improve your own level of riding? You may be interested in our Instructor Training Program. Starting with pre-snow training in early November, the on snow training commences the first two weekends in December (snow conditions permitting). SKIBACS is a member ski school of the Professional Ski Instructors of America (PSIA) and American Association of Snowboard Instructors (AASI). We train to the latest techniques of these National organizations. You do not have to feel obligated to teach to enroll in this program. However, those participants completing the training satisfactorily may be extended offers to instruct for SKIBACS (see our web site for more details).

Instructor Assistant Program

An extension of our Instructor Training Program, for those not fully ready to take on classes on their own yet, yet may be interested in participating in our Instructor Assistant (training) program. Instructor Assistants are involved in on-going training during the season, observe and assist Instructors with their classes, and receive the same season pass privileges as regular instructor staff (however, these are training roles, and are not paid positions).

If this piques your interest, read the following and at least come to the first instructors meeting and talk to some of the other experienced instructors. Talk is cheap and it's effective.
