SKIBACS

The Boeing Employees Ski Club, SKIBACS, was founded in the winter of 1951 by several avid skiers eager to meet and pool resources with other Boeing employees interested in skiing. In 1956, a constitution and set of By-laws were drafted and approved by the membership and the Boeing Recreation unit. As the Club increased in membership, a plan for a Club owned lodge was developed and approved. This plan to own real estate, prompted the filing of Articles of incorporation.

In the beginning, activities were primarily social and included trips to nearby ski areas. Over the years the Club has continually added value for its members by starting its own ski school, building a lodge at Crystal Mountain, expanding the selection of trips, adding social functions and sponsoring race teams.
