SKIBACS - Lessons Notification

Continuing the SKIBACS tradition, we are pleased to offer you quality downhill skiing and snowboarding sessions starting in early January. Whether you are a "never-ever" or an expert, the SKIBACS School will strive to meet your needs.

  • NEW THIS YEAR!  Our 'Sonic Boomers' program!  Adult only, daytime on Wednesdays starting in early January.  This 5 week series is for those who may no longer be tied down to a 'day job'.  9:30 AM start for fresh tracks, get some coaching on your technique in the morning, take a lunch break (not included), then out to practice what you and your posse worked on from the morning.  Wrap up at 2 pm (so 3.5 hours on snow with your coach).  For intermediate and advanced level skiers only.
  • SKIBACS standard group session's (ski or snowboard, Youths and Adult classes) consist of weekly two-hour and 15 minute classes for six consecutive weeks on Thursday evenings, Friday evenings, Saturday mornings, Sunday mornings, and Sunday afternoons at Summit at Snoqualmie, Central.
  • Our Jetsters program is quite popular for our littlest skiers (ages 5 and 6).  No more than 4 kids/instructor (our average is about 3.2).
  • Private lessons are offered on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. A private lesson is a single two-hour session.
  • Our Women’s  XX’s Workshop, a four session, all morning (3 hour) lesson series starts in early January on Saturdays, aimed at providing coaching and guidance of already good skiers to take their skills up a notch in technique and/or terrain!
  • For people working a 4x10 schedule, Thursday nights are a great deal . . . classes are usually smaller and are adults only. Less crowded, so you can ski/board more. Some even say the weather is better on Thursdays.

LESSON Prices and What's included (and not included)

Our base multi-week prices start at $98 for members.  On a number of days and lesson length basis... we're the most competitive option you will find.  Our staff is also one of the most experienced around.  Although we have 'fun', we also take the 'Professional' in Professional Ski Instructor of America (PSIA) membership seriously. You will be coached in the latest standards in the sports (AASI for those of you on the snowboard side of things).

Our prices are only for lessons, however.  They do not include lift ticket or season pass prices or equipment rental

Cancellation Policy: if you should need to withdraw from lessons there is a pro-rated refund (less $35 handling fee for a member, or $45 fee if a guest) which may be obtained with written notification, effective as of date we receive notice.

Season Passes and Rentals

However, our students can buy season passes for the lowest available (summertime pricing) season pass rates, right up thru December.  A pretty good deal vs buying daily lift tickets, and less hassle (sign up info for passes is sent once you sign up for's only available to students).  There is a wide variety of pass prices, depending on age and day of the week you are interested in.   A few examples are (before sales tax):

L-T-D Pass for adults (26-61), $379, Adults (19-25), $359, Teens (13-18) $339,  Youths (7-12) are $279 and kids ages 6 and under Unlimited Pass is just $79.

Mid-week pass, the XPASS for all ages is $299 (any terrain Mon thru Friday with a few black out days).

There are other season pass options and prices (the 'Unlimited' has fewer restrictions, like weekend access to Alpental, but is somewhat more costly, and also you can opt to pay extra for some 'low snow year' guarantee protection, for example).

For rentals, although there are some shops in town that rent, availability is usually limited.  Many beginners do a 'Rental Season Pass' with the ski area.  Pay a fixed fee ($149 teen and adult, $129 youth, $109 for ages 6 and under), and you can pick up equipment at the ski area as many days in the season that you just have to drop it back off at the end of each day.

Who is Eligible

Lessons programs are oriented towards Boeing SKIBACS members, their families and guests.  As a rule of thumb, if someone issued a Boeing badge (even as a non Boeing employee, say an Airline representative, or on site Supplier), you can typically sign up as a member of SKIBACS.  Members and immediate family pay member pricing for lessons.  Members may sponsor a limited number of 'Guests'.  This is limited to 5 guests per member.  Non family guests must be accompanied by the member on the ski hill on the day that they are taking lessons.   A 'family Guest' would be a nondependent family member (such as a grand-child, member sibling, etc.).

Lessons Signup are available as of (as of 10/14/2017).  Be sure to check availability, not all skill levels or topics (ski/snowboard) are taught on all days.
