Summer Ski Camp:

Dates: May 23, 24 and 25 (Saturday – Monday)

Sign-up:

Location: Timberline Ski Area on Mt. Hood.  A range of lodging is available in Government Camp, OR and lots of camping in the area.

Coaches: PSIA-NW Technical Team and alums.

Cost: $585 for three days of skiing and fun! Includes coaching, daily lift ticket and t-shirt!

Who should attend?: Any SKIBACS instructor, alpine or snowboard**. Everyone is welcome and the camp is just for us, run by us, so we can tailor the groups to meet our needs.

** Snowboarders: We need at least 4 snowboarders to form a group, please sign up and talk with your fellow SKIBACS’ snowboard instructors to attend!

If you have not skied at Timberline in the summer before, it is a fantastic experience.  The Palmer snowfield is a wide-open groomed surface with a slope like Alpine at Summit Central. You can expect a range of weather from bluebird sunny hot days to full on winter, but most of the time it is warm and sunny!  Expect Spring snow conditions, with firm and icy in the morning changing to soft corn snow in the afternoon.

** – Spring passes are good through May 25.  They cost $219.  Must be purchased before May 11. Daily tickets are $124/day, so you can save $153 for the three days by buying a Spring Pass!!

Typically the snowfield starts each day with a public lane and assigned lanes for various race camps from around the world. With the earlier camp this year on Memorial Day Weekend, I anticipate that there will not be as many other camps on the snow field and there will be plenty of space on the snow field. We will NOT be racing, and you won’t need any special ski gear.  The topic for our alpine camp groups is general ski improvement.

Timberline has its own medical waiver/release form. Adults complete the general waiver.  The medical information (step 2) is for anyone under 18. ·
