SKIBACS IKON Pass discount
This year the SKIBACS IKON Pass price for the IKON Pass and IKON Base Pass will be less then the public renewal price. This means to take advantage of the SKIBACS’ discount you will need to get a code from us by filling the SKIBACS form (link below).
We are joining once again with Alterra to present you with discounts for the IKON Bass Pass and IKON Pass. If you are renewing your pass you do not need to get a code since the price is less, but please register with our club so that we can benefit from your purchase. If you do not have an IKON Pass, you will save using the SKIBACS’ discount. This does not include the military, college, or nursing passes.

SKIBACS Lodge
March Newsletter 2026
Greetings!
We are heading into what will soon be Spring and Summer at the lodge. It has been a crazy winter season. No snow, then snow, and 410 road closures. Mother Nature is having her way with us, that is for sure.
This past weekend, Crystal and other areas received a vast amount of snow & wind. 410 to Crystal was closed for 2.5 days, and the area was closed until mid-Sunday. For those of you who had Friday/Saturday night reservations at the lodge and could not make it due to the road closure. We will be refunding your credit card. If you were paying with vouchers, we will reissue those to you. What a bummer for everyone! Hopefully, you will all make it back since the
snowpack is pretty good for some spring skiing.
This coming weekend, we will be having a “photo shoot” of the lodge. If you are planning to be up and staying at the lodge, just giving you a heads up if you are wondering what is happening.
A reminder to everyone, if you plan to “drop in” at the lodge, you MUST contact Matt Ugland (253-579-4287 skibacs1966@gmail.com) first for availability, then, prior to arriving at the lodge, payment is to be made online! Our policy is you pay before you stay!
We have our first work party scheduled for Saturday, June 20th. We will be having a Celebration of Life for Scott Terada, a key volunteer at the lodge and all our work parties. Everyone is welcome, and if we get a few things done, great; if not, we will begin our plans for the summer and fall. Please join us! More details will come in early June.
A round of applause to Matt, Shelby, and Chane for keeping our lodge running smoothly this past winter, especially with everything that was thrown at them!
Thank you! See you this summer, everyone!

Scott Terada
Scott was a regular volunteer at our summer lodge work parties. He was always there to lend a hand in any way. He also would help the club by manning a booth at the Boeing Family Fun Days and at other events. He was a big promoter of SKIBACS. His smiling face will be missed at SKIBACS.
Here is a bit from the S’no Joke Ski Club president:
Hello —
It is with a heavy heart that I relay the sad news that Scott Terada (age 61) passed away on Dec 28, 2025 from an apparent heart attack.
Scott was a long time member of both SKIBACS and the S’no Joke Ski Club, serving on our Board of Directors for 5 years as our secretary. He was beloved by all that knew him — and his smile was reassuring. If there was a ski trip to Montana or Colorado, then Scott was one of the first to sign up. He was also a reliable volunteer in helping to set up and take down the props of our social events (e.g., Ski Trip Picnic, Annual Elections and Halloween Party)
His family held a private memorial yesterday. This news is especially sad for me because Scott was my ski pal. He had signed up for our Club trip to Jackson Hole and Grand Targhee and I became concerned that he missed the plane on Jan 25. Now we know why.
Memory Eternal
Jim B
